Prepare for petition (Form I-130, G-325A, certificates, proof etc.)

You must file separate immigrant visa petitions(Form I-130) for each of children.

File 　　　 Files the petition to the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) office
Pays the application fee ($190) for each I-130		  
　 　 　 　 　　  
　 USCIS accepts the petition, gets the application fee
Sends a receipt (P1) to the American petitioner/lawyer

　 USCIS approves the petition, sends a notice (P2) to the American petitioner/lawyer
sends the petition to the National Visa Center (NVC)

　 NVC assigns a case number (GZ number), and sends:
1, Form DS-3032 Choice of Address and Agent to the Chinese applicant

Gets the Bill for the Form I-864 Affidavit of Support processing
 
　 　 　 　 　　  
　 Fills Form DS-3032, signs, sends it back to the NVC with the envelop from NVC.(The agent can be anyone, including the Chinese applicant)  
Pays the I-864 processing fee ($70)
 
　 　　 　 　  
　 NVC gets Form DS-3032
Sends the bill for immigrant visa (IV) processing fee ($380) to the agent that is chosen on the Form DS-3023 		  NVC getsthe I-864 processing fee ($70)
Sends the Form I-864 to the American petitioner/lawyer 		 
   
  Agent pays the IV fee ($380) to the NVC      
   
  NVC gets the IV fee $380
Sends an instruction package (P3) to the agent inabout 3 weeks 		 

American petitioner gets Form I-864, signs on it before a notary public or a Consular or Immigration Officer(Oversea)
Gets supporting documentations for I-864:
1, the copy of income tax returns for the most recent 3 tax years
2, the copy of W-2
3, employment letter (self-employed need not)
A joint sponsor should do the same as above if needed.
Sends the I-864 and the supporting documentations back to the NVC with the envelop from the NVC
Sends one more copy of income tax returns to the Chinese applicant for the interview

How Do I File an Affidavit of Support for a Relative?
